| Hi, I'm having trouble understanding how to setup my stepper motors and driver. They can be found here: driver and stepper motors, which I have just purchased of ebay. I have the datasheets for both, which can be found here and here. Both have wiring diagrams but I cannot make sense of them, all I understand is how to cut wood.. The motors have 8 wires each, and I don't want to fry the things before use, as I'm no electronics expert, thought I better get some help. Cheers |

| In order to help the more-knowledgeable to help YOU, I pasted a few more details... Nema 23 stepper motor 1.86 Nm (263 Oz-in) http://www.stepmasternc.com/datasheet4axissop-2.pdf Did you get the software? "Now included is a free version of Mach 2 CNC software" That may help soften the blow. Did you get your cables? What are you going to run? A table? I don't know much yet, but I FEEL for ya'!!! Best, Wes

| I managed to get them working, I had never used 8 wire steppers before so I was unsure what to do with the extra wires!!! Heres the instructions on how to connect the steppers to the stepmasternc: connect the A (blu./wht.) wire to A on the controller, connect C (red) wire to A# on the controller, connect the B (grn/wht) wire to B on the controller, connect D (blk) wire to B# on the controller. Connect A' (blue) wire to C' red/wht.) wire. Lastly, connect B' (grn.) wire to D'(blk/wht.) wire. If anyone needs stepper motors I highly recommend Motion Control, they are an excellent company and the steppers are top quality. The StepmasterNC driver board is well made, and is working great, time will tell how long the driver board will last! Although they state on there website they specifically manufacturer the board for the aerospace industry. The CD they also supplied was doa and didn't work, but I'm not too bothered. I have built the Rockwell router, about 90% complete... Thanks |
