I somehow obtained a step motor manufactured by Sigma Industries. This one has no information plate showing the voltage and power ratings. The only information was the model number 20-2220BD-28469. I had searched the internet to no avail. It has 8 wires, 2 for each windings, so bipolar motor; but what power supply should I use for this step motor? Any help would be appreciated. MC. |

| Hi, If it has 8 wires, you can drive your motors as unipolar or bipolar. As you know, bipolar driving needs more current and you can get more torque from your motors. If you drive them bipolar you can supply 24~32V (for classical step motors) If you really need to measure its torque accurately, you should use some torque-meter. Cooper |
