Hi there, I was just wondering if anyone knows if the IM483IE drivers can be used with say a program like MACH 3 to recieve step/direction comands? It doesn't look like there is an input pin for this only output, since this model uses an indexer and what looks like different coding? I know that the regular IM483 card has input pins for step/direction but not sure about these ones. If anyone could help me it would be much appreciated as tehy seem to be very good drivers, even if the indexer will not allow step/direction is there any way of "converting" the IE type board into just a simple IM483. thanks again. chris. |

| Here are the technical specs on the drive if anyone wants to have a look and maybe help me out. http://servosystems.com/ims_micro_im483i_ie.pdf if there are no ways of making it use step/direction inputs is tehre a way that I could hook up to pins #11 and 33 for jog - and jog + for the computer to control the input pulses? thanks. chris. |

| Dont think you can convert it to accept clock and direction. REgarding any software, to accept Gcode and send the appropriate signals to the IM483I, i doubt it, The IM483I uses its own form of motion basic, and is quite an old product. You would be best getting a new driver, will save you a lot of time and money.
