you ll want at least 400oz motors for that size of table , i made the mistake of using undersized motors twice before the motors i have now and even at 400oz , i feel i should have gone bigger
Hi Everyone!
After stumbling thru the forum. I got dragged into the CNC world. After reading alot, i have camed up to what will suits my needs best. But i am a little unsure about the motor setup. This is the one im about to buy. Its haves a holding torque at 10.kilo's. And its a 2 phase motor. That should be enough wouldnt you say?
Please look at the specs anyone that proberly knows more about this than i do.
Here is the datasheet: Datasheet
And maybe for the Z axel i might be enough with a 4phase 4,1kg motor? :

What do you think?
And also what to use as a drill. I came over a bargain for a plunge router that is RPM adjustable between 11500-28000. And a effect of 1200W. Or should i go for the a little more expencive 2100 version? Or do you have a even better tool to recommend?
My setup so far is no setup at all. But i believe i will have a working area about 40x40 or something close to that...
And if any one of else have any good tips & tricks on building a CNC router i would appretiate any help..
Thanks in advance
Jan Rune

It's not just the motors, it's the drive system as a whole that's important. Here's a new router with 400oz motors running at 300ipm rapids. He's tested it at 500ipm without any lost steps.Originally Posted by dertsap

Okey. Then i will drop the 352oz version and go for the 624oz (datasheet ) instead. Do you think the 352oz will be enough for the z axis?
The price jump is rather high between these 2 models...
