| I Have purchased a batch of 5 steppers at EBAY, four are bipolar and one unipolar. I plan to use the bipolar ones in my first machine. Since they are used steppers I don't have a spec sheet and not all the information I think I need is on the motors. I have measured the resistance of the two coils and identified those. I don't know which wire is 1 or 2 or 3 or 4. I understand I must know this before connecting. Also don't know the volts and step angle on some. If someone could help me out I would appreciate it. I have it in a spread sheet and will try to attach it or display it in a picture format so you can see the information. Regards, Hager Last edited by Mr.Chips; 10-22-2003 at 08:11 AM. |

| Save as jpg instead of bitmap, the file size will be much smaller. Gerry

| Retiredhh, I can tell you about the Vexta wire color codes as they are what I have. Black--------|A+ | | Yellow-------|Center Tap | | Green--------|A- Red----------|B+ | | White--------|Center Tap | | Blue---------|B- I hooked the power up to the White and Yellow. The phases were Black, Green, Red and Blue in that order. Of course that was for my unipolar driver. I guess you eliminate the two center taps for bipolar use. Chris PS The ascii graphics didn't come out very well. I do have the origional spec sheet. It doesn't give much more valuable info than that though. If you want I can scan it for you. Let me know. Hello, New to the forum, hope I'm doing this right. I have 4 motors: vextra 2-phase DC 16V 0.53A 1.8Degree stepper...6 wires coming out of the thing. What kind of torque/speed can I expect out of these, and what kind of drive would I need to drive all four of these motors simultaneously? Thanks in advance, Kevn Lambson |
