Should i take the oscilator to a higer freq????
I built a driver based on L297 L298, the driver works fine but i get a noise and a vibration on the shaft. I checked the frecuency of the oscilator and its on 25khz.
Sometimes is kind of a hig frec sound but then if i move the axis changes and sometimes its makes the shaft vibrate. As far as i knew this should not happen.
Im using a 42V PS and a 5V 1,4amps motor.
Any one has any idea of why is this happenening??? or is this normal???
Thanks.
Mat

If you built a chopper, it will make noise. Kind of a hissing sound. Not sure about the vibration though. I will look at my motors today and see if they vibrate. They sure do make noise.

hi ez-cnc
The causes that the buzzing of the motors provokes can be so many.
the first one among everybody is that the oscillator of the L297 resoning to a lower harmonica of the fundamental frequency.
this thick problem occurs when I disentangle him/it some pcb you/he/she is not realized in optimal way.
Often the plans of GND are neglected or absent, or badly distributed worse, this provokes the transfer of troubles to the section oscillator of the L297 that oscillates on a wrong frequency.
Reads the manual of the St microelectronics, respect the pcb routing on L297 based circuits.

grazie ragazzo.
I will look to improve my grounding. I cheked the oscilation with my osciloscope and it looks like a charging capacito curve.
Im gonne also try raising the frequency.
Make sure you use a star grounding system. It kind of sounds like mechanical resonance.
Phil, Still too many interests, too many projects, and not enough time!!!!!!!!
Vist my websites - http://pminmo.com & http://millpcbs.com
Do you think it could be a power supply problem??? Cause when I just use one motor its a high fi frec sound, with 2 motor more like a vibration and with 3 motors it turns into a vibration.
What do you think???
Thanks.
could be powersupply or power wiring, especially grounds.

Could also be inadequate bypass capacitors on the board.
I have a 2200uF on each driver. i think i need more. Ill try that ass soon as i get back.
I will also post some pics of my project.
Thanks for the help.
Yep, it was incorrect grounding. I used star grounding and also i sinchronized all the oscilators(wich also helped) and almost no vibration at all.
thank you guys.
bravo ragazzo!!!
