A couple of questions regarding stepper motors with built in drivers and a controller that just has either ethernet or usb input.
Does anyone have any experience with these integrated stepper motor units. They are called Performax M-Series or AMCI SMD23-240. They seem to have very good drivers with excellent micro stepping capabilities but would just like to know the opinions of what you experts out there think about them.
Also, could these motors be connected directly to a breakout board and run with Mach 3?
Case 2: If they are connected to the Proteus USB-4CX, does this require some special software to work since it goes through the usb? Is there software out there that could be used with this controller/stepper & driver combination?
