Upgrading my steppers but do I change my Gecko 203v

I've Been having a few missed steps on my 30 year old 1100ozin motors
I retro fitted Mach 3 and Gecko 203 a while ago but I think that my X Axis motor is weak so want to upgrade to take bigger cuts on the
    Mill .
I'm running the original 47 volt psu but was thinking of changing the geckos to drives that use 220v directly to boost the power levels

My question is which stepper drives have people used and are they any good. ??.

What are the current, voltage and inductance ratings for your motor?

The KL11080 looks like a regular drive with a built in power supply. Nothing in the datasheet suggest that it will supply more voltage to your drive.

High holding torque is pretty useless. You need a motor that can maintain torque at higher speeds. You can get a big performance boost if you keep your g203v and use this motor with an 80v supply

You might need to add a fan to the motors if they get too hot.

There for a Shizuoka AN-S CNC Knee Mill, and my normal cutting speed are in the 450-600mm/Min range. I have 5mm pitch ball-screws so mostly only need power in the 1.5-2 RPS range. I have limited the rapid speed to 1500mm/Min and that's fine for my machine as the machining area is only 450mm x 800mm. The thing i need is power down low as the machine is quite capable of cutting a 10mm deep slot with a 3/4" roughing cutter in steel. In fact when it lost position the other day i was cutting a Ally Billet of 6061 and it did cut a 50mm deep slot at 600mm/m made some deep noise but it did cut it with no ill effects to the tool...

Machine has Nema 42 flanges at present.... and 1100oz/in motors they are rated at 9amps...
