    Epson Stepper Motor Help

I took a stepper motor out of a Epson printer that I can not find a proper datasheet for. I measured it and it seems to fall in the Nema 17 dimensions. The main thing I am concerned about is power requirements. I am going to be hooking it up to a 3 Axis TB6560 Controller and it states
This driver is the 1.5A-3A version, it's specially designed for stepper motors with rated current from 1.5A to 3A, it's NOT compatible with stepper motors with rated current below 1.5A or above 3A!
Service Manual, motor is the "PF Motor":

I am not sure about the wiring either. The wires are not labeled. There is one red mark on one of the wires and this was hooked to pin 1 on the control board. I am assuming this is A and the rest fall in line, A-/B/B- ?

Also is there a trick to removing the gear with out a mini gear puller? I have not tried anything yet but can you just rip them off with pliers or something?

    Thanks for any help!

Do a search in this forum for epson stepper. I found a few. This would be close to the model SST41D on the Shinano web site.

For the wires do another search here on "identifying stepper wires" do he same on Google. If you have an OHM meter you should be able to find your answer.

This web page: techref.massmind.org/techref/io/stepper/wires.htm documents several ways of figuring out the wiring.
James hosts the single best wiki page about steppers for CNC hobbyists on the net:
