    Can't identify motor wiring (colors)...

    Hi...

I'm frustrated. My motor wiring got stripped from the connector and now I'm at a loss as to how the wiring goes together.

The motor number is 57BYGH603-04 and there are four wires: Red, Blue, Yellow, White. I can't find anything on the internet regarding the wiring diagram.

    It's controlled by a Mechatronics 3-axis CNC micro-stepper driver, and I have the schematic for that (A -A -B B).

I just can't figure out what the motor wire color goes to what... ??? Please help? I have attached a pic.

    Thanks

    Paul

If you have access to a multimeter, measure the resistance between pairs of wires until you find a pair with low resistance between the two wires - call that pair of wires A and -A (it does not matter which wire is which), and call the remaining pair of wires (which should also show a low resistance) B and -B.

If I connect the wrong wires together, can this cause damage to the motor or the driver?

It is not likely that you could damage the motor.

I have no knowledge about your driver, and so I would not speculate about that.

Once you have identified the two windings, as A-A and B-B if it runs the wrong way swap the polarity of ONE pair.

Is there a way to check motoring wiring with a 9-volt battery?

techref.massmind.org/techref/io/stepper/wiresbattery.htm specifically covers figuring out the wiring with a battery.
