    Increased driver output ???

    So ... My 1st post . I hope it's not a stupid one

I am just starting to learn about cnc as I want to build my own woodworking router CNC machine.

I yet have to find the answer "what size motor" , but that I will ask in a different section.

But, related, is the driver output, and the cost of the driver.

I have seen 3 axis driver boards quite cheap on ebay. I wondered if it is easy to add an output (amplified) stage between the driver board and the motor, so you can use bigger motors with a feeble driver board. The heavy output driver boards are quite a bit more expensive !, but transistors are cheap

I am guessing this has been asked and tried several times, so I hope one of you has the answer.

    TIA

    Tricky

    The short answer is no.
Basically, you get what you pay for. There are numerous posts here about the cheap Chinese boards failing, or not working correctly to start with.

Generally, when building a CNC, do your research before spending any money. Most people that try to save money end up spending more money, because they end up buying the cheap stuff first, then upgrading to what they should have bought in the first place.
