Yes it seems like 2.5A is the max current.
By PDF do you mean PFD (percentage fast decay).? If so it sounds like the driver is based on an Allegro chip and I have some info here HydraRaptor: Lessons from the A3977 about setting PFD
I have a Taig CNC mill. A couple of years ago, I let the magic smoke out of all 3 axes on my Xylotex driver so I bought a Mechatronics 3-axis driver on eBay.
I want to be sure I set up everything correct so I don't kill this board too.
The labels have fallen off but my motors I'm pretty sure that this is the stepper on each axis. Xylotex Stepper Motors Rated Current = 2.8A/phase.
The Mechatronics manual says Vref=2*(desired current). And the maximum voltage value fore Vref is 5.0VCD per axis. Does that mean I should set them all to their max?
Then I really have no idea what to do with PDF voltage. Guess I should have paid more attention in my college classes before I switched from Electrical Engineering to Math/Education.

According to the Xylotex site...
The steppers are wired as follows:
RED-B# BLUE-B BLACK-A# GREEN-A
http://www.xylotex.com/StepperMotor.htm
From the Mechatronics pdf, the board has A -A -B B
So I'm assuming that I should wire the motors as follows...
Red -B
Blue B
Black -A
Green A

Does that look right?
