Question Vexta 5 Phase Stepper Motor doubt !

    Hi all,

    I scavenged a VEXTA 5 Phase stepper motor (A5678-9215FK-A4) DC 2.7A, 0.3ohms/ Phase, 0.72 degree/ Step.

    1. Is 2.7A the total current of the stepper motor or per phase
    2. If 2.7A is for Per phase then it has 5 phase, so is it 2.7 X 5.
    3. Can this be used with Linistepper.
    4. How do i calculate the Voltage of the motor

    1. Is the motor new or old? Round or square. If it's a newer square motor, then it's per phase, otherwise it's total.
    2. only if all the coils are on at once.
    3. no. The Linistepper only drives 2 phases.
    4. not sure on a 5 phase stepper

Believe it or not, it's hard to say what the actual rating is or what the current supply needs to be. In general, supply twice the rated current per phase. I'm putting a page together on that subject at:
