Steper Motor & Driver Seting--- Please Help

    Please Help.

I have a Gueko drive G212. I had wrote to Gueko's people, but they don't answer me. Maybe they don't have time for stupid questions.
In the instalations notes, it hasn't information for:

    OPTION JUMPER BLOCK.

    STANDBY ENABLED: JUMPER 2,6
    STANDBY DISABLED: JUMPER 1,5
LOW RANGE: NO JUMPERS ON 1,2,5,6
    MID−BAND DISABLED: JUMPER 3,7
    NEMA 42 MOTOR: JUMPER 4,8
    SPARE JUMPER ON 7,8

How many jumpers do I have to chose, What do they mean?

    I have a step motor - 7.4V - 1.3A - 180 steps/r - 6 wires

    Mauricio,

The default jumper settings on the G212 are:

    1) Auto-standby current enabled (2,6 jumpered)
    2) Normal current range enabled (1,5 not jumpered)
    3) Anti-resonance enabled (3,7 not jumpered)
    4) NEMA-42 disabled (4,8 not jumpered)

    5) Input option header set to 'common ground' (1,2 3,4 5,6 7,8 jumpered)
    6) Resolution set to 'full-step' (1,2 jumpered)

    This means the G212 will:

    1) Reduce motor current to 30% of set value when stopped
    2) The motor phase current range is 1A to 7A
    3) The drive will damp-out motor mid-band resonance
    4) The drive will work with NEMA-17, NEMA-23 and NEMA-34 motors

    5) The COMMON terminal goes to your pulse source ground
    6) The drive will emulate a full-step drive

Detailed descriptions of these settings and their functions are available in the manual that came with the drive and is also available for download from our website.

The final thing you need is to install a current-set resistor across terminals 11 and 12. Using the equation from the manual, you need a 10K 1/4 Watt resistor. Run your motor 'half-winding' and use at least a 36VDC power supply. Please see the 'Entire step motor basics white paper.pdf' available on the support page of our website for other considerations when using step motors.

I received your email at 11:46AM, you posted here at 10:38AM. I wish I had a time machine. Then I could answer emails before I get them and you would not have to complain about being ignored.:-)

Then forget about the other stuff you're working on and get to it.

    ger21,

Got the flux capacitors. Know where I can get a good deal on a DeLorean?

An old neighbor recently sold his. Probably had less than 1000 miles on it. Seriously. He was the original owner.
