Question need some help in stepper driver

hi i am from egypt and made my own cnc 3 axies so when i made driver (l298,l297) and supply the stepper by 12v 1A ,I FOUND SOME PROBLEM WITH STEPPER AS IT START NORMALY THEN MAKE SOME LAG .MY STEPPER MOTOR IS 3 A
I TELL MY SELF THAT IS THE PROBLEM THAT THE STEPPER NEED MORE SUPPLY
MORE CURRENT ,OR THE MOTOR IS BAD,

Max rating for L298 is just 2A and the PSU you said is not sufficient for your stepper. Try a 24V PSU at 5-8A. You can build it by a transformer but use reasonable filtering cap's (i.e. 25000-30000mfd).

There are many drivers and PSU's are available in the market. Geco 540 is one of them. Just use google.

Building the driver and PSU is a time consuming process. I suggest you to buy them and invest your time on machine build.

i am sorry for bad english
i am egyption student engineering

I finished biulding the machine and make kit to test it
by l298 and l297 but as i said that current outpot is not good for stepper
as my stepper is 3a per phase
and i want to make l298 in paralle to get more current
plz if u can make design for tow l298,in paralle with l297
and my stepper in 8 wire 3a
plz help me

I personally suggest no to use L298. I tried them couple years back and was not satisfied with the outcome. Rather, you can use L6203. It is a half L298 but 4A. Take a look on the schematic at below link, OP claims he built it and works brilliant.
