Hello all I'm new to forum, just wanted to see if anyone has wired a six wire stepper? I have the wires separated into two groups that have continuity a I have found the center tap. The question is what do I do with the center tap is it a ground? and how do I determine witch is A+ A- B+ B- ?
I thank it is as folowes
The motors should have more torque wired bipolar.
Thanks just refitted an old AXYZ router and started on my own but when stepper come they had 6 wires not 4. dose it matter witch set is on A or B and dose it matter witch is - or + ?
What is the speed def from bipolar and unipolar ?
There is no speed difference between the two types. Speed come from the controller inputs. A bipolar will usually have more torque than a unipolar.
You have no way of running unipolar, since you have a bipolar controller. Theres no way to know which is the right way to hook up the wires. Just hook them up and if it moves the wrong direction switch one of the pairs. read this for more information;
