Trying to keep my CNC table design compact, I was going to mount 2 steppers beside each other. Not touching but close together, say 10 - 20mm apart. Would this be OK or is there any valid reason not to? Would any interference occur? ie could the magnetic pulses from one affect the other? |

| Magnetic fields decrease to the square of the distance (if I remember) and the coils and fields inside are very, very close, and the motor case is an effective shield. It shouldn't matter. Heat is more likely to be an issue, but with a gap, you can always put a fan on it. |

| Mine will be much closer together than yours.
