Hi, I am wondering is it possible to blow a stepper driver up by simply reversing the phases ie putting A+ where B+ should be and visa versa? Also could having A- in the A+ plug do any harm? I am having trouble with two of my drivers and I am wondering if they are wired incorrectly and if so has it done any damage. I'm thinking that they may be blown but in saying that they boot up fine with both the red and green lights working which is something I wouldn't expect if they were blown. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Lachlan |

| If you swapped those wires while the system was powered up, then yes... you probably damaged the drivers. If you powered off, swapped wires, powered up, then they should be ok... If you single step and read the voltages at the motor leads, do you get reasonable changes? |

| I ensured that the motors were off and unplugged before I made any changes so hopfuly I havn't blown them. So should I simply put a multi meter across either A+ and A- or B+ and B- then jog and see if there is a voltage change? Its odd as all the wiring is identical, the motors have been individually tested using a working driver which is identical to the two broken ones, the circuits which are connected to the so called faulty drivers are working and correct as I tested them with the working driver. The pins on the drivers have all been set the same and the breakout board is working. I'm starting to run low on tests before deeming the drivers faulty which are only 3 days old. Thanks |

| Between motor common and A+, then common and A-, then common and B+, etc... In microstepping mode, you should see an signal that ramps up and back down again and again as you step. If you are full step or half step mode, it will just come on and off. |
