I currently own a small plasma table that to say the least is extremely slow. I have a binding problem with the acme rods and I want to switch to a gear rack and pinion.. I figured a way to do it but in order for it to work correctly i would have to reverse the polarity.. Mechanically it would work, but i'm unsure if you can switch the polarity on these motors without damaging them. Can this be done without harming the electronics? I'd hate to do all the work to find out i just wasted a bunch of money and burnt up a motor. |

| What controller are you using? Mach? You most likely will also have to change the scaling the indicate the change in steps/inch. Al.

| A bipolar motor is reversed by switching the leads from one pair of the motor coils, IIRR. You can check in this tutorial; Jones on Stepping Motors |
