Im not really sure what happened, But I was running a program on my CNC tonight, everything ran perfect, program finished and I ran inside to get a drink. I come back out and my stepper drivers are dead. More specifically 1 driver is dead from what I can tell, but I dont get it. I have this kit 3-Axis Monster Hybrid Stepper Motor Driver Kit - With the RF isolated BOB and 40v power supply. Currently I cannot get over .208-.3 on the Vref on my steppers. This was .407 when I originally set all this up and it was not maxed out. Now maxed out I get .302. @ out of 3 of my driver boards seem to work ok, but one is completely dead. I swapped cables around and tried different things to see what would change and nothing would move from that driver. The indicator LED still lights up but the motor doesnt even kick on thats attached to it. Does anyone have any ideas what could have caused this? |

| Well, it was niether a loose wire or a short. I didnt have a proper heat sink, so my drivers fried. I was thinking since the ambient temp was so low in my work area that I could temporarily get away with out fans and a large heat sink, I was wrong .But on a good note the guys at probotix.com got me taken care of and I should be up and running today or tomorrow. YAY |
