hi everyone plz i need help in my controller i use l297 controller with l298 H-bridge to control 2.5 A unipolar motor i connect the motor well in bipolar connection and i used the 555 timer to get pulse train 668Hz and it worked very well but when i use the mach3 to control the motor the motor not running i tried a lot to solve it but nothing work 1- i isolate the parallel port signal with 74h244 and another time with 74573 and nothing happen too 2- tried to make motor tuning and port configuration in mach3 but zero results so i do not know where is the problem plz help meee Last edited by midohamaki; 12-09-2010 at 03:39 AM. |

| and i do grounded the pp with the l297 what if it about the frequency !! how can i use specific frequency by mach3 coz motor work well with 1KHz may be it too fast pulsing from mach3 ??? what do you think ??!! |

Look at this thread. There was the same problem solved. Read all posts. http://www.cnczone.com/forums/mach_s...t_running.html

| i had read the post you told me and it was have the same problem and i think it was about motor tuning and mine too but how can i customize the motor tuning option to be in specific frequency ?? and i will try every solution in that post and see what is gona happen |

| Don't get confused with Mach3 speed, like 25KHz. That is how often it updates the outputs, but they don't change on every update. This enhances timing accuracy. Go to motor tuning and set motor speed very slow, then keep doubling it until it does not work. Halve the one that doesn't work, sneak up on the limit, then back off, say 25%. Once you have the optimum speed set, do the same procedure with the acceleration. Changing direction will not loose steps when you get it right. Make sure you have the step and direction polarity set correctly according to the specs for the chip you are using. That is, active high/low in the output pins.

i think at first u must be sure of LPT output (hardware, wire and DRIVER) for testing it use a small led with a resistor on the selected pins and run mach, if all are ok it will say to you, then u should think on frequency and... if problem is this so ur motor must stall and vibrate with no rotation and u can try for tuning it. |

| at first thnx for ur reply i am sure of my LPT and tested it it is okay a bout the freq i donot know the freq i will get from mach3 in spec tuning so i use 555 timer to get known freq from it and the motor work very will so i am sure now that the problem in mach 3 tuning me and my friend made software to control 555 and the driver circuit by code and it worked will but the G code was simple not complex but i will find the right tuning in mach 3 and tell you it ASP thnx |
