Stepper size question..

Hey guys,

I've found some new motors to use on my machine, but I'm unsure if they'd be large enough for what I want to do.

I'd like to use them on a mini-mill type conversion. I think I'd need to drive them through a belt-drive reduction gear box to be able to have enough torque, or would they be capable at direct drive?

3A per coil is the maximum my currect drivers can handle (PICStep) so they seem to be the largest I can get without having to replace the drivers with something else.

What you think?

Yay, I got a "heavy" box in the mail today from Singapore. It contained my 3 150oz/in triple stack steppers.

I cannot wait to see how these babies perform hooked up to my PICStep controllers. I reckon I'll be able to push em' really hard.

Thanks to everyone who put some cash into the "Buy Alan a lathe" fund, I really didn't have enough to buy a lathe, but I did have enough to buy these motors. So thanks all!
