Hi, I am used to build small things with my arduino, easydriver and smaller stepper motors. But now where i am building a larger cnc mill my easydriver is not enough for powering up my new stepper motors. So i am asking if anybody have an idea for a driver that will work with the arduino and is powerfull enough to run my new stepper motors.. Specs for motors are Nema 23 Current phase: 2.8 Resistense phase: 1.13 bi-polor 4 wires Nema 34 Current phase: 6.2 Resistese phase: 0.75 bi-polor 4-wires suggestions for 2 different drivers(one for each type of motor) are preffered but not necessary.. Thanks for all your suggestions.. |

Okey, found a solution.. Drivers from geckodrive looks fine, has greate reviews and look like it can be connected to arduino boards.. correct me if i'am wrong ![]() The models i found are the g251 for the small steppers and the g201x for the large stepper motor.. Anybody know where to buy it in Denmark or Europe?? Thanks |

| Hi steinmann. Welcome to the Zone! Please give either the Voltage rating of the motors, or preferably the Inductance per phase, so we can analyze your PSU requirements. Both Gecko and Keling ship internationally: http://geckodrive.com/products.aspx?n=148454 http://kelinginc.net/ CR.

| Okay! Thanks for the info. The smaller motors need 76V for best operation. The large motor needs 96V for best operation. Ideally, you would use Gecko 201s or better for all motors, coupled with a 72V, 10A PSU. If you use 251s, and a single PSU, the max Voltage of the PSU must be limited to 50V. This would work, but slightly slow the smaller motor's top speed, and slow the larger motor more. You could also use TWO PSUs, a 50V for the 251s and a 72V for the larger Gecko. This would give the max performance. http://crevicereamer.com/Page_2.html CR.

| If you are going Gecko, you might want to wait just a bit. The Gecko customer appreciation sale is coming any day now and will save you a bunch of cash. CR.
