I have read on this site of a few people detuning their steppers, but only to the effect of how much torque they would lose. I would like to know if detuning is possible and if so how how would I go about it for the following specs. Stepper Motor specs: Amps=4.2 Ris=0.6 Induc=1.8 mH Torque=294on in. (No voltage listed) I would like to detune these motors to utilize the TB6560 controller. |

| Those motors can use a max Voltage of 43V. The higher the Voltage (Up to 43V) the faster the motors will run. Torque is inversly proportional to speed, so the faster the motors run, the less torque is available. Torque is directly proportional to Current, so at 4.2A (And sitting still) you would have the full 294oz of torque available. if you cut the current in half, to 2.1A, then you will also cut the max torque in half, to 147oz. And that's all there is to know about detuning. CR.
