| Hi all, I am researching and hopefully start building my 1st 3 axis CNC hobby machine and although at the moment I have the design 99.9% figured build will start within the next 2-3 weeks all going well. I have read and tried to digest as much as possible but the electronics side has made my head spin with what is out there to use and basically I am confused as to what to buy for this machine. Basically what I would like to know is a fairly simple question and that is does any company offer a fully made stepper driver, power supply box ready made that you can basically connect your PC and stepper motors to it and load it with the software and start cutting?? The closest I have seen is the Xylotex 4 axis Bi polar drive box but again I am making a 3 axis machine and this will not be suitable or will it?? The machine will be powered with 200oz steppers if this is any help. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kammo1. |

| Hi. The simple answer is "yes". Try our friend Dan here: http://www.camtronics-cnc.com/ The learning curve for the electronics could be steep at first but it will flatten out quickly if you're patient. Once you're over that hump, you can decide what to buy and in the process save quite a bit of cash when compared to ready-made. You will also be intimately familiar with the ins and outs of your setup. Of course, you can't go wrong if you buy a known and supported brand of drives like the ones advertised on this site. | I am not sure wether you are looking for a UK source, but a Canadian one is Larken Routers, they will sell the complete amps, motors and software PC based printer port control separately. Takes all kind of files direct DXF, Corel, G-code etc. Al.
