I am doing a small lathe conversion. I need help with the wiring for a Superior Electric stepper motor M093-FD-334. They are 6 wire motors. Motor leads are red, black, green, white, green-white, red-white. I will be connecting as 4 wire to Gecko 203V. Anybody out there have an old catalog with a document sheet on the the wiring? I do know that one phase consists of green, green-white, white and the other phase consist of red, black, red-white (I think this is right). I need to find out which wire is the center tap of A phase and B phase as well as colors of A, A-, B, B-. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, JohnD |

| Hi John. It would be nice to find full data and a wiring diagram for your motors. Failing that, you can find what you need with a mutimeter set to ohms/resistance. Clip one meter lead to one of the motor leads and touch the other meter lead to each of the other wires. You will find 2 other wires that will give a meter reading. This is one phase. Now measure between the three wires. The two with the highest resistance will be the series connection. The other wire will be the center tap. You will want to tape off the center tap wire and use only the series connection for the G203V. If the motor runs in reverse, switch the connection of one of the wire pairs. If the motors run too slow for you, then you could wire them half coil. That would entail using the center tap and one of the other wires of each phase. Trial & error to get it right. CR.

| These web pages were written to help guide you through finding your motors wires: http://techref.massmind.org/techref/...pper/wires.asp A script that figures out the wiring of 5 and 6 wire motors based on your measurements. http://techref.massmind.org/techref/...pper/wires.htm general information and methods of finding the wiring. |
