Need specs on stepper motor...?

Hi there,

I am planning on building a 3 axis CNC controlled milling machine / plasma cutter (as an XY Router), and today i might have found some nice stepper or servo motors. But, i can't find any detailed specs, so i would like to ask, who can tell me if these motors are servo's or stepper motors, what Nm, Voltage and Amps they work on...?

This is the info on the label:

MAE SPA OFFANENGO (CR)
HY200 3437 0660 AK04
P/N F .U166
A3879I

There are 4 wires going in, red, orange, black and yellow.

Any info is appreciated, thanx many times!

Mike, from the Netherlands

Update!

I found out that it's a custom designed Nema 34 stepper motor, with a rated current of 6,6Amp and a torque around 3,5Nm.

Now i still need to find out it's voltage...

If you do not have any specification, but you know rated current is 6A
Just use your multimeter to measure the resistance to cal. Rated Voltage = Rated Current x Resistance

Hey,

I did a check this morning, red and yellow, and orange and black make 2 pairs/coils.
Resistance turned out to be quite low, i think, on all 4 motors resistance was 0,5ohm on each coil.

So, 6,6A x 0,5Ohm = 3,3V...?

This can't be right, what am i missing here?

3.3 volts sounds OK and is in line with other similar stepper motors.
A more useful parameter would be coil inductance.

Hmmm, 6,6amps with only 3,3volts...? I can't even find a driver that can handle this, for this number of amps they usually start around 30 volts.

If there's anybody out there who can find the original specs on this motor...?
I've been looking "everywhere", but i'm a noob so i guess some of you know better where to look.

This is why the inductance of the motor is important.
Maximum voltage for the motor is calculated by:

V = 32*√inductance

Typically the voltage applied to the motor will be 15 to 20 times its rated voltage.
