When i google on 5 phase steppers i can find to types. a 6 lead version and a 10 leads version. can someone tell me de difference between these steppers (exept the difference of 4 lead wires ) |

| Sure it is not 5 wires? The 5 wire has all the coils internally connected in series and the wires that come out are from those connections. See the bottom of page 4. http://www.datasheetcatalog.org/data...en/mXqsuvu.pdf I guess you could get 6 wires if it was connected as a star and included the center tap. With the 10 wire would be both ends of each coil and you could do anything you want with it. Five phase motors are smooth even when run with full steps, 2 phase motors need to go to micro stepping to be as smooth. Last edited by Andre' B; 07-06-2010 at 02:35 PM. Reason: Messed up |
