    running stepper at 12v

    The steppers I have say 5.4 volts 1.5amps. Can I run them at 12-20v?

    I use 5.2v 1.4amp and use 32v into them, I would not go below 24v because you will suffer in torgue and miss steps.

    You need to use a chopper drive to limit the current to 1.5 amps. To get the best performance, use as high of a voltage as your drive could handle.
