Fixed: Motors only run clockwise - PacSci 6410, Mach3 | | I finally hooked up my PacSci 6410 drivers and Powermax II motors to my computer running Mach3, and after a long while I got it working - sorta. The problem is that the motors are only running clockwise. Setting DirLowActive on the output pin only changes which button works, the motor's still only running clockwise.
When I check manually with Parallel Port Monitor I see that both ports do basically the same thing. As long as #3 (dir) is high, cycling #2 (step) will turn the motor. Strangely, the exact same thing happens if #2 is high and I cycle #3. Turn one of them low, and cycling the other won't do a thing.
I'm guessing hardware error or wrong setting on the motor driver, but I have no experience with them. Any tips?
One tip from me to me: Check your connections! I'd made my own breakoutboard with the right connections, but I didn't use it when I was just checking one axis. Works like a charm now.
