hay guys, looking for a little help here.

found this on e bay. been trying to figure my electronics out. i dont know exactly which stepper motor i need (or the size) but from the info on gecko's site i need them to be about 100watts.

i am building a gantry router system. looking to do wood metal ect. (gnatry weighs about 65lbs.)

build thread newbie diy router build.

any way. wondering if this is a good buy. if it will work? anybody heard of them? it appears to be well made, and they have a good deal of info on it.

    any help is appreciated.

    Hello Zygoat,
Check out this thread on those boards,
eBay TB6560 Stepper Motor Driver Boards
I have been using 1 for a few months now without much drama, the input opto's gave a little trouble as a couple where faulty, the rest works fine and is a good product for the price, I run my board at 24v as I use nema24 steppers. It seems that any more voltage may damage the 6560 chips,
    Good luck

Also you may have to note that the optocouplers are not realy isolated. The input ground (LPT) and the power suply of those boards is connected. Hence being carefull with wiring the whole setup. It's still possible to kill the PC port by voltage differences in the setup.

P.S. please don't trust ANY of the marketing giberish from those eBay pages. Check the component spec on the net and make yourself aquinted with the chip.

P.P.S. The voltage warning from MadMachines is for real.
The 36V in the eBay page is the ABSOLUTE MAX of the chip. This need to take inductive spikes from the motor into account. Stay well below 30V to be save.
