Default Will These all work together?

I have a Emco Unimat 2 lathe and I want to convert it to a CNC Lathe. I don’t want to spend much at all. I found these on ebay and I would like to know if they will work together and will the driver board work with CAD software. I’m all ears if someone has a cheap and easy solution.

I will also need the drive belts once the motors are mounted. Where do I buy the “gears” for the motor so they match the ones on the lathe?

    Thanks guys

    Hi, MPSP
I bought that exact board. It works fine, but don't go over 24v or you will toast it. Also cut their rated Amps in half if you want it to live.

I don't know the size of your lathe, but those motors your looking at are only 34oz. I would look for larger steppers, 160oz, just as quess. Under $20 on ebay. Or free on a business sized copier. I found 2 160oz and 1 100oz from a machine that this copier bussiness was more than happy to give me. They also have gears, limit switches, and all kinds of cool things on them!

As for gearing, larger steppers could be direct drive if possible.
    Good Luck

    Default Thanks

Thanks for your help. I'm a real noobi at this. (no idea at all)

Here is a link to my lathe. It's less than 2 feet long. The only work it will be doing is timber or aluminium.

what is the different oz for?

From what I have been reading I should get a stepper that moves less than .02 of a deg? Is that correct?

Does your board work with CAD software?

Would you mind pointing me in the right direction on ebay for the correct steppers that will not blow up the board.

    Thanks again for your help.
