    Default 23lm-c355-p6v

Does anyone know the specs of this Step Motors, V/Phase and A/Phase values does not exist on labels, i checked many. I contacted with Astrosyn and Minebea, Astrosyn said that this is a motor produced by Minebea, searched on their site and saw closer models but not this one with C355, i mailed Minebea but no reply from them for weeks.

Found a site, he does some work with desktop-cnc and he uses "23LM-C355-P4", on the site it says "2.6V / 2.0A" for P4 ones, but not P6 again

    Thanks.

    Default 23LM-C355-P8w and 23LM-C355-P9V

    Hi

by any chance you have spec sheet for 23LM-C355-P8w and 23LM-C355-P9V steppers, They have 6 wires so i am guessing they are unipolar, i have checked the Winding Resistance with a multimeter and they are 2.2 Ohm, but wanted to know the current rating.

    Thanks

I found this document also which describes that particular Unipolar Astrosyn 23LM-C355-P6V http://www.asr.org.tr/pdf/Vol14No2p139.pdf

I found one of these steppers in a junkyard Lexmark 2831 Plus Forms Printer which drives the dot-matrix print head. Another pancake stepper (55SPV2505NA) drives the paper feeder and is a 7.5 Deg. 8 Ohm coil with a gear. Lots of other goodies which can be cannibalized - toothed belt/pulleys, .54" dia. (14mm) shaft x 18", bushings, 1.5A driver chips/transistors, power supply etc...

Most of my CNC is comprised of recycled printer parts, and the bigger/older the printer the better steppers they have. Big enough to make a Dremel based router and hopefully manage a palm sized router when I get it developed to that stage.

I too would like the datasheet for a 23LM-C355-P9V stepper motor, they should be 1.5A but I'd like to check!

    Default 23LM-C355-P9V

Liander, if you refer to firat kocak's post in this thread the "P9V" suffix indicates the drive pulley or gear pressed on the shaft the type of connector on the motor. I would suspect that it will have the same specs as my "P6V" as I use. I use this to run a Z-axis and 1/4-20 threaded lead screw with no more than a Dremel tool for a load (or a small laser). There seems to be very little documents available so best 2 out of 3 searches says it is a 1.5 amp/coil motor. It is also a unipolar (only type I use so far).

From the PDF link I posted which agrees with previous postings:
MARCA MINEBEA Co. Ltd – ASTROSYN, Stepper Motor, Type 23LM-C355-P6V
Rated Current: 1.5 Amps Detent Torque Nm (g-Cm): 0.0540 (550)
Winding Resistance: 2.2 Ohms Rotor Inertia (Kg-Cm2): 0.110
    Inductance: 5.5 mH 1.8 Deg/Step
    Holding Torque Nm (Kg-Cm): 0.614 (6.2) 200 Steps/Rev.

    Good luck, Mike

Thanks Mike, I've done a few tests and they seem to be 2 ohm per winding and 2A though, they have an IBM P/N so maybe they are a custom order?

Mine also labeled with Astrosyn, and Minebea, made in Taiwan. They could have been custom order for Lexmark, but also may just be "extinct" under that numbering system. I found this also (Google is amazing) with very similar specs in Minebea catalog - look at 23KM-K355U http://www.eminebea.com/content/html...pdf/23KM-K.pdf

I think you are close enough with the data at hand to be able to make an educated choice how to drive it.

    Default Wiring Color Codes

If I can get a copy of the Data Sheet for the MINEBEA 23lm - C355 stepper motor.

I am trying to identify the correct external wiring. This unit appears to be hard wired I would like to validate the A A\ B B\ pairs and polarisation.

    green
    white

    black
    pink
    brown (old sillyputty color)

Could this Minebea stepper motor 23LM-C355-02 be used on Proxxon MF-70 with the
·3 Axis CNC Stepper Motor Driver Board Controller TB6560· found on ebay?

    Default stepper motor wiring

I pulled a few of these (23lm-c355-17) motors from a printer and am building a small cnc router, but there was no information out there, so I figured out the wiring.

    The wiring is as follows:

    blue a+
    tan a+
    red b+
    black b+
    yellow b-
    white b-
    green a-
    orange a-
