    Unhappy Suddenly jamming!

I purchased the parts for my CNC machine a while back, and seem to be having an issue. I'm hoping you may have seen this before. (I've attached a video of the issue, here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0...zRCUXhpcHY5eEE.)

My x-axis motor is "jamming", for lack of a better term. When this first happened, it was during a cut, and so I did some troubleshooting. It's not jamming because there's any push-back from the stock being cut. I raised the bit above the material, and ran the machine back and forth. The issue still happens intermittently. I then thought it was jamming on the gearing or on the chain, however, I don't see anything in the way at all. The bearings all flow smoothly.

When I remove power, I can move the x-axis smoothly. I do hear a bit of the grinding sound at some points, as if there was something in the motor clunking away) and I've done all I can to figure this out. I would really appreciate some fresh thoughts on the matter.

Do motors fail this way after time? Is it possible there's not enough power getting to the motor? Is it possible that the signals aren't being sent or received properly between the adapters and the motor?

This is only happening on my x-axis. I'm hoping the community could provide me with some ideas of things to check. I built this personally, and have never come across an issue like this before. I appreciate ANY feedback you may have!

    Thank you all!

    Rick

Well, 164 views and no ideas from the forums, I finally figured out the issue on my own. Since I'm not one to leave a thread unanswered when I've figured out the solution, here it is... As it turns out, one of my drive chains had worn out, and was causing the jamming. I replaced both of the drive chains on the x-axis and everything is now working. Hopefully, this helps out someone else who may come across the same problem.
