Which Stepper motors for early K40 laser engraver.
Hi Everyone,
I am new to this site and i am after a little bit of help with my K40 laser engraver, i expect this has been covered before but i am after some new stepper motors for my k40 and was wondering if anyone could give me some info on the correct ones and where to get them. Does the colour of the wiring effect anything as they all seem to have different colour codes. my original ones were red blue white and yellow, the nema 17 stepper motors i bought had different colour codes and are not working once i fitted them. The original ones had wires directly into them which quickly snapped off so was hoping to replace them with the ones with the plug ins.

I have trouble with Y axis stepper, I can not find much info about this one...

Hello,
i found a bit of information on another site which gave a model number for the X Axis
but nothing for the Y Axis but i bought this one to try but have not fitted it yet Stepper Motor 42HS4004B4 0.4A
the first stepper motors i bought were to powerful for driver apparently 1.6A etc and didnt work so i have bought low powered ones 0.4 and 17HS2408 4-lead Nema 17 Stepper Motor 0.6A for X Axis from Aliexpress.

My problem was that Y axis stepper was not working well (motor was rotating left-right- laser head did not go to home positioning).
But the problem was not the stepper - it was the main board, with a new board installed that stepper works just fine.
