An unrelated suggestion: put some spacers under your clamps so they would lay flat on the workpiece. It will give you more holding strength (which you will need once you sort out your motor torque problem):

If you write a code, to say ,level the table and run the CNC not cutting anything. Just making square passes. Will it miss steps

Hello to all of you guys! And thank you for your tips!

Just tried to install the freshly received geckodrive g540. My wife texted me to say some drama stuff etc so i rushed the wiring and connected two V+ outputs from my psu to the gecko. the gecko obviously didn't run and then I realised my mistake and connected V- and V+ properly.

Will my mistake damage the g540? Knowing that after i wired it it gave me the green light until i connected the PP cable and booted my pc which made g540 stall in the fault mode...

    Keeping working on it...

Check the charge pump signal, or turn off the charge pump on the G540.

Hello guys. An update. I figured out, it was an X axis motor wired incorrectly which faulted g540 every time i tried to jog it. Now it all good and those speeds are damn crazy. Untrimmed driver could give me a whoping 9500 mm/min rapids (370 in/min). I'm very glad!

Two question tho for those who know the problem. Motors give me a strange electric noise when idle, it dissapears when it moves, it works well but i'm a little scared.

And i have some crazy cracking in the Y axis (can be heared on the video), I think it could be a dead bearing. If someone knows what it is...

Steppers "hum" a bit at idle due to the power holding the motor in position. You may be able to tune/trim the driver and get rid of it, It's only a concern if it overheats at idle or is jittering/moving. If it's overheating you need limit resistors if they aren't installed. The resistors puts the G540 in current standby mode when idle.
The "cracking" noise sounds to me like something isn't aligned correctly and the torque of the motors is enough that it's not stalling or binding, but the tightness is causing things to creak and crack the frame (or gantry or rail mounts etc) when it's moved. If so, it'll wear moving parts or bearings out much more quickly.

thank you for the advice, i've soldered the 3ohm resistors as in the manual so it must be normal but I didn't trim them yet, so maybe I will disassemble the machine again to see if there are any problems but yeah i drilled all the holes by hand and it is far from well aligned. funny thing is when the axis is not attached to the ballscrew i can move the gantry freely without any force etc...

Then check the ball screw and ball nut alignment and the alignment of the motor-shaft and coupler.
