Default HBS86 system powering on and of

    Hi,

Some time ago I bought 5 HBS86 drivers. After a allot of wiring and mounting parts I came to the part where I have to decide how to power on and of the system.
In HBS86 manual I found a line saying “It is prohibited to pull and plug power connector while the drive is powered ON, because there is high current flowing through motor coils (even when motor is at standstill). Pulling or plugging power connector with power on will cause extremely high back-EMF voltage surge, which may damage the drive.”

So, if not by cutting power to power supply witch supply’s the driver, how properly and safely turn of the system, when motors are in holding position?

That is referring to unplugging the motor from the drive, You can power down the power supply to the drive with no problems.
