Default where to buy high torque nema 23 three phase steppers?

Does anyone know where to buy 3 phase stepper motors that are nema 23, and have more than 300 oz-in torque? The biggest I've seen are the keiling/leadshine motors that are about 280 oz-in. I'd like to use something a little bigger on the x-axis of my lathe, but I don't think a nema34 will fit (tucked under the apron).

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Justin

You might look at the Clearpath SD series servos, they have the drive built in, and are a direct drop in replacement for equivalent size steppers. I have used them in customer retrofits and have been pleased with the results.

Those are pretty cool. I was actually considering the leadshine "easy servos", so that's tempting. I wish they were a little cheaper! I guess it's not as bad as it looks, considering they have a drive built in.

Why 3 phase? Most steppers are 2-phase, meaning the steps alternate between two phase loops, pushing the armature along positively. The holding torque isn't the most important number; look at inductance first, and make sure your drives can tolerate the voltage required to run the motors at their optimum speed.
