    Talking Need help with stepper motor connections

    Hi guys,

    I am new to motors and drives. Recently, I would like to try a project with multiple stepper motors. I am trying to connect the stepper motor as shown in the diagram.

    What are you trying to build? All those motors are quite small for CNC work, but they might be useful for some things - except motor "C", which, with its 10 mH inductance, probably won't even turn at 24v. Using the formula 32* (sqroot)mH, that motor really wants over 100v to run at top speed, which is a lot more than your arduino will tolerate.

    Sorry for forgetting to mention the project. I am working on a 3 axis turntable. Something like this but a smaller version. .

    However, there is no particular forum for this and stepper motor I used is used in CNC machines as well, so I thought here is a good place for me to ask this question. Sorry if I am asking this at an inappropriate place.

    Sadly to say, I did even know the formula 32* (sqroot)mH before you told me, however, if my load is low,

    Motor A's load = 150 grams
    Motor B's load = 300 grams
    Motor C's load = 1.5 kg

    and the speed is around 60 rpm. Can they operate under this condition with Motor C is driving Motor B while Motor B is driving Motor A?

    Besides, I thought the one handling voltage is stepper motor driver? Will it destroy my Arduino with high voltage supplied to my stepper motor driver? However, 100 V is clearly over the maximum voltage acceptable by my stepper motor driver.

    Use the highest voltage your driver can reasonably accept and is practical, anything less and you are shooting yourself in the foot. The difference in performance between a 24 volt and 36 volt power supply is substantial.
