    Default EBAY ACT Motor Stepper

Even though I've been registered here for a long time, i'm a noob. I'm looking to save money on a possible CNC Router Parts CRP2448 and need opinions on a 34HS9456 stepper sold by Changzhou ACT Motor on ebay.

It seems like a pretty good motor, if you've got high-powered drives and a power supply to match. But with 3.76 mH inductance, it will want about 62 volts DC supplied, and since it draws 5.6 amps, it will require drives capable of handling that much current. So the popular Gecko G-540, for example, won't work, since it maxes out at 50 v and 3.5 amps/phase.

Thanks Andrew. I totally overlooked the 5.6A/phase, although a G540 was not in my plans.
