Default stepper motor isnt holding its place

    Hi all,
First of all, English isnt my native language so im sorry if my grammer is bad.
Second, I couldnt find an answer to my problem with the search option, but that may be because I dont know what words to use. so if this has been answered before, kindly point me to the thread :-)
I ran my machine a bit hard and now my x-axis motor wont lock into place. all the stepps work but it can easily be wobled, approximately 5mm in each direction.

is my motor dead? can it be fixed if i open it?
all the wires seem to be in place
    thanks alot :-)
    Dan

Check to see if there's a good mechanical connection between your sprocket and the motor shaft. Crashing it could have caused a setscrew to break loose, and carve itself a channel to slide around in.
