Talking My steam engine work log

Hey guys, I have been working on my own wobbler, similar to the brassy babe but I just got the ideas on how it works to design mine.
All I have pictures of now is the crankshaft counterweight I milled. Ill get pics of the rest soon.

I was very impressesd with what my mill did for me in the making of that, I left .001" on the bottom and just pushed it out the bottom

Yay, engine pics! Keep them coming! Looks like a little guy. I bet that EM is 1/4" or 3/8". Do you have drawings that you can post?

If you're interested in small steamers, look for Elmer Verburg's book called "Elmer's Engines". It is greatness.

Also check out Dan Kautz at http://www.tedatum.com/thms/index.html . He's got a good start on a steamer locomotive and posts ongoing updates of his progress

that counterweight isnt by any calculations, its just 'close' and looks good afterall its only a steam engine

Looks good, Jon. Like you said, it's just a steam engine, the counter-balance won't really matter. Glad to see some of your stuff with the new mill, it looks great!

Heres a pic of the parts so far, thats a delrin cylinder that I have for the piston, the piston is .2" in diameter and same with the cylinder(just a tad bigger)

I still need to drill a hole through the piston, and machine the main body along with a flywheel(still trying to figure out what I am doing for that.)

Yes, thats a ball bearing
-edit- woops! I forgot the pic
