Hi,
Are there any Sprutcam users in or near Toledo, Ohio. I am looking for someone who could get me off dead center.
Thanks,
Ernie

Hi Scott,
Dead center is like a press that is at a point in the stroke where it cannot move any more due to many factors. In other words, stuck.
I have the software from Tormach and I do not find it intuitive. I need some help that is very basic, as described by a friend when asked how to write an essay, replied, first you pick up your pencil then you put it on the paper lead side down. I have the manual and as far as I am concerned it starts out with the cart before the horse.
I am hearing impaired and when watching Eric's videos do not get much from the audio and very little from the video itself as the moves that he makes are too fast for me to follow.
What I would like to do is sit down with someone who could explain in the very basic of terms each step from importing the model to getting a good tool path. I might add that I am approaching the age of 79 so I am much slower than I used to be which could be part of the problem.
Sorry for the rambling reply,
Ernie

Got It.
I also have the Tormach Version. If you want to take a trip to Medina I would be willing to help. I am by no means an "expert" But I think I could get you going on the basics.

You will probably want to see if anybody closer to you chimes in.

Scott,
Thanks for the reply. I went through it again and ended up with some code but cannot get it to run. Comes up with an error message. Cannot get simulate to run either.
Ernie
It would help if you posted the file for us to see what you are or are not doing.

Gerry,
Kalamazoo is quite a jaunt from Toledo. I will pass for now but if I get desperate enough, I may contact you.
Thanks,
Ernie

Hello Ernie from another over the hill guy!
Make sure you are running the correct post processor, if you set up the operations and dont hit the run button and get green checkmarks on each item it wont simulate.
I read the down and dirty section I downloaded from Sprutcam, that was the biggest help to me.
And Eric goes too fast for some of us thats for sure, the videos arent clear enough to see which buttons are being pushed etc.
Download the Sprutcam manual from Sprutcamamerica.com
I printed out the first 15 pages or so and there is a section called "brief and to the point", that helped me more than anything.
I can do the basics now and learn more each day but it is tough, kind of like target shooting in the dark ha!
I would be happy to talk to you on the phone about it if you want.
