This mode gives me a lot of grief, but for now I have one simple question. I have a part that is basically a cone with 1.5" max diameter. I can make a roughing operation just fine. The paths have their normal approach and retract distances. When I create the finishing pass, I set it to do two passes. The problem is that the tool somehow pulls waaaaaaay back between the passes, like g0 x5.something. What do I need to set to get it to not do that? I messed around with a few settings, but right now they are back to default. Sprut 7.1.5 |

| I'm afraid all I can offer is moral support. I also have fought and struggled with the SC7/Tormach vertical lathe function... every time I use it. After wasting days trying to figure out how to get the code for a simple turning job I finally picked out the part of the tool path that was good and then went back and edited the post by hand to clean up the random movements. I found SC7 was giving accurate tool path profiles (which for me is the hard part) and the other stuff I discovered wasn't too hard to figure out once I acknowledged I'd never get SprutCam to yield. I think the V-lathe function in the last version that Tormach released is much better than the previous one so I'm hoping that somewhere down the road there will be a version that works as well as the mill functions. |
