I think it's safe to say that since becoming a member of this forum I've more or less established myself as the resident whiner/complainer. I believe I had more than enough reason to be. But, that's not my purpose for posting this particular thread. This time around I just wanted to give some Kudos to Eric over at Tormach and Dave at the Dukes4Monny support site. In my desperation to find answers to the software issues I was having I turned to the only SprutCAM Gurus I knew of. I think it's also safe to say that with input from experts on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, we tried just about everything. All to no avail. Many of the things that were suggested I try, I had already tried on my own; NOT because I knew what I was doing but, because I was desperately trying different things to resolve the issues I was having. I emailed Screen-Shot images of exactly what I'd tried to describe with the written word. It was no surprise to me that the general replies were, " I've never seen anything like that before." To me those responses were actually kind of a relief. At least I knew we were all on the same page. I'd never seen anything like that before either. The patience and professionalism of these two guys is to be commended. I'm afraid that, had it been me doing the supporting I would have told me to "Piss-Off" shortly after the first email. Two evenings ago I had come to the point where I was honestly gearing up to ask for my money back because regardless of the great potential and price of this software when compared to others of the same genre, it was doing me absolutely no good. Even the most expensive, most cutting edge, most intuitive and easy to learn CAD software -given to you for free- is useless if you can't get it to work for you. The night before last, before I did anything as rash as ask for my money back I uninstalled SprutCAM from my computer for the second time. The first time I Uninstalled it I used the Uninstall feature that came with the computer. I can't say for sure if this had a key role in the outcome but, this time around I used the Uninstall feature that came with the SprutCAM software. Then I Re-installed SprutCAM onto my computer. I did everything by the book and made a conscious effort to install it as the "Administrator;" as had been suggested in a couple of the video tutorials I had viewed. I was actually running SprutCAM before as the "Administrator" but I don't recall setting it up that way in my initial installs. It was done more as an after thought in a desperate attempt to get this software to work for me. Anyhow; I started up the software and began working on the same 3D models that I'd worked on when I started experiencing the anomalies I've been whining about all this time. I started from scratch with each of the 3D models. In the past, I would begin to experience issues at or about the time I created my third operation on either of these to particular 3D models. This time I got NO anomalies; NO freeze Ups when I went to save the files. NO Access Violations. Nothing out of the ordinary. You can't imagine how encouraging that was. I didn't want to start celebrating just yet. As a precaution, I thought I'd deliberately add some more random operations to the the list of operations I had already created for these parts; just to make sure I didn't get any surprises after a certain number of operations. As of this writing, I've had this software in and out of my computer three times. Three Times. THREE TIMES. This time around; well, I guess it's safe to say that there really is a God in heaven. I have no clue in the world why this software was such a Bit*h to get to work right. As some of you guys know already; especially Eric and Dave; when you get a "Bit*h" of a software and a Whiner like me together, it makes for a perfect-storm of conditions for "Murphy's Laws" to take effect. I'll give it just a couple of days more before I'm ready to proclaim that "All Is Right With The World Again." For the time being, I'm really encouraged. Eric and Dave: Well done gentlemen. Take the rest of the day off; with pay. I also wanted to thank the rest of you guys for putting up with my complaining. Now I can move on to crashing some tools and making some metal shavings. Tim M. | It's been a couple of days now working with SprutCAM after having installed for the third time. No further problems have been encountered. Everything appears to be working as it should. It's official now; All Is Right With The World Again. MetalShavings |

| I'm glad I'm not the only one! You don't know how many times I have heard "I've never seen that before". Not at all in relation to SprutCAM, just general everyday life! Computer problems, software issues, car breakdowns, you name it! I feel like Murphy sits on my shoulder and has the best time! In any case, it sounds like you have made a breakthrough - congratulations! I am looking to upgrade from BobCAD to SprutCAM if/when I get a fifth axis on my machine. May be a while yet, but SprutCAM looks to be SO much more powerful than BobCAD... I am just hoping I can find sufficient support for SprutCAM, as that is a weakness in BobCAD. Other than a very knowledgeable and generous poster on these forums for BobCAD, getting support would be either extremely costly, or ineffective...
