Lets just say I am using my 4th axis to lathe basically. This is not exactly what I am doing or I would use a lathe but I am cutting all the way around a cylinder. I can get sprut to do the cutout just fine but the finish is not very nice. One issue is that when using pocket machining there is not a option (or I cant find it) to make it step over while not in the workpiece. The issue with this is it creates flat spots while moving over. The other issue is rough lines between cutter passes. I guess what I need to know is what is the method to get the best finish when machining like this? I can provide a pic, files, etc if needed. Thanks, Tim |
