is your z in the middle of the tube if so set you safe to 1" and on job assignment pick base surface and cylinder radius of .5
Hey all
I usually use Bobcad, but since we got a Tormach at work thought I would try using the software that came with it. But I am struggling a little bit.
Using Sprutcam 7 Pro, I have a 1 inch diameter cylinder that I am trying to flute using a 3/8 ball endmill. I can get everything to work using a pocket and transform it around the cylinder, but for the life of me I can not get it to go any further than .075 deep. I want the flutes to be .100 deep.
I pick the top edges of one pocket in my iges file, pick the 3/8 ball tool, check safe plane .1,top level 0,bottom level -.1, .025 depth of cut, strategy milling type both, multiply toolpath by axis mode copy, axis a, multiply step 60, multiply count 6.
I have tried just doing one pocket to see if it was something to do with the multiply and it still does it.
The other odd thing it does is sometimes when I hit run in the machining tab it tells me that it is going to make contact with the model on the rapid move, and then I can run it again and it does not tell me that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Walt
