I cannot download from Sprut Russia's FTP site. Each time I try, the download stops after 100 KBs or so (with Windows saying download complete). SC Support gave me the exact address which took me to the same FTP directory and no change to problem. They then told me to install another browser (I am using Internet Explorer). But I can download from Tormach's FTP site without any problem; about 20mins of download each time. Has anybody else had or having the same problem, and perhaps has a cure? Bevin |

| Bevin, I have had similar problems a few times in the past..... Being I generally download at free wifi places I would just try from a different location and success usually resulted. Once in a while the Russian site appears to be really slow which generally means to try again later as it will likely crash before completing. Just my experience on SC downloads. Glad to hear you solved the postprocessing problem. Rebooting after uninstalling a program is usual a good idea as many program mess with the registry file in Windoze. Starting from a clean reboot will save you much frustration as noted. Robert |

| Robert, Your comments made me think and do a little investigation. I am on a home network of an XP and a VIsta with a router that acts as a basic firewall. Both computers display the same sympoms with Sprut RU but both computers can download from Tormach's FTP site. So it is most unlikely that the problem is due to computer config but it is still possible that the router has a setting that works with Tormach but not Sprut RU. So the only real conclusion is that Sprut RU FTP site is configured differently to Tormach's. I will do more research and will post the results. In the meantime, I would appreciate if people could post if they are able to download from Sprut or not, and if they use a router or not (and if they are using NAT if they know). |

| Bevin, I don't think it's a configuration issue but more a network traffic / noise issue. It's amazing it works at all considering it is coming from half way around the world through who knows how many networks and switching systems. Generally early weekend mornings have worked best for me. Robert |
