    Default VFD RS485

How can you tell if vfd has rs485 componets.
    Its a Huanyang 2.2kw 220v HY02D223B.
The screw terminals have rs+ rs- connections.

Reading the manual or asking the seller perhaps? Anyway, RS485 is just the hardware interface. You also need to know about the communication protocol, like if it is Modbus complient or not.

Thanks A_Camera, I have been preoccupied with getting it back going.

I had inadvertently messed up the parameters while trying to get the vfd/spindle to work with Linuxcnc.

I was wondering if there are any distinguishing items on the board that would tell if rs485 communication is possible.

    Thanks again.

The Huanyang 'Modbus' interface is a Chinese interpretation of Modbus, there is a couple of Mach plug in's written for it, the last one is by sebastien on the royaumedeole site.
I had some communication with him and he steered me to his interpretation of the various control code methods that Huanyang implemented, there is an extensive post on the Mach forum for it.
There were a few Huanyang version that did not have the RS485 IC populated but I believe all recent ones have it.
