    Default Correct VFD

    Hello Guys

I have a Wasino CNC lathe that is rated at 2.2Kva and I only have single phase 220 in my shop. I need to know what size VFD would work with this lathe. Thanks in advance for your input.

You would need at least a 3Kw VFD, and capable of using a Braking Resistor, larger the VFD for a lathe the better, usually go by the spindle motor Hp, you want the VFD to be at least 2Hp larger than your lathe motor

I have a Huanyang 10HP VFD and it keeps kicking the vfd off, I have a rotary phase converter but was told that if I hook it up to the CNC it would blow the computer in it and this VFD keeps kicking out

You can only use a VFD to power the Spindle Motor, it can not be used for any other electronics or to supply power to any other part of the machine, a VFD can only supply Power to a 3 PH AC Motor
